Why are all of those people lining up behind the metal gate at 5:25PM? Because they want to be first inside Shoki's downtown branch to order the extra-spicy tan-tan ramen. Yup, it's worth the wait. If you wanna try something more unusual, order the soy-milk broth and the homemade wheat noodles in your bowl. The menu is pretty basic otherwise. Staff work as fast as they can, but don't come here when you're in a rush. It's just too popular.Recommended for:

I ordered the Tan Tan with Chashew. Didn't know they would charge extra for Chasew; since I didn't want the beef in it. Thought it would just substitute it. Oh well.. Boyfriend got the Soy Milk Ramen. Mine was a bit more flavorful & plus a bit spicy. They were busy for lunch & didn't refill our waters. I got the Apple Tea which was lightly sweet & that's good. If you want to use the restroom, go to the counter & get the key from the hostess. The bathroom is outside of the building.
It was nice to try, but I still like pho more than ramen any day. :)
