Apparently they won't knock this place down because it's a historical landmark...
This theater is so outdated, the sound system is terrible (the bass and treble are way too sharp), it's dirty (they use tape to separate the stairs steps), and parking is atrocious ($15 and if you're parked on the top... good luck getting out).
Sure, the stage and the chandelier are really nice. However, the chairs are kind of uncomfortable compared to newer venues (I rather sit in the nose bleed sections of baseball games) and the staff here have no clue where your seats are located....
Overall, unless you really have to go to this venue, just skip it.

I've come here on many different occasions - a USC graduation, a talent competition concert and an EDM concert. Each time has been a wonderful experience. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. There are ample parking options adjacent to the building.

At various time the Shrine Auditorium has been the site for the Oscars, the Emmys and the Grammys. It is also where Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire during the filming of a Pepsi commercial in 1984. The scene in the original King Kong movie, when King Kong breaks loose from his chains after being exhibited before hordes of flash-popping photographers while on a New York theater stage, was actually shot at the Shrine. Since its 2002 renovation, which among other significant improvements added air conditioning, the Shrine is a much pleasanter place to enjoy a performance.
Entering the Shrine parking lot can be confusing. It is on 32nd Street.
