I'm inclined to the theory that pizza is really an American invention and that New York has the world's best pizza. Calvino doesn't top that but it's quite good, nonetheless. First of all, around 8 at night this place is jumping, with people coming in for take out or sitting down for their own pie. My wife and I ordered ...Popular withStudentsBackpackersBudget

Classic Palermo Restaurant, if you go during summer time you must Eat Al Fresco (Outdoor) in a beautiful old square. This is the place to find real Sicilian food.

This is my favourite place to eat out in Catania. It's a trattoria, not a restaurant, so there are no frills or fanciness. However, the food is amazing, and it's dirt cheap. The antipasto buffet is always worth a go, and the grilled meats are delicious. Drink local wine by the carafe and prepare to be rolled home ...

Erice literally dominates the surrounding landscape, that's why it was such a formidable stronghold during the Punic Wars. Eating lunch on the terrace at Monte San Giuliano feels like dining in a hot air balloon hovering over the Sicilian coastline, only it's wonderfully shaded from the summer sun. Oh and the caprese app followed by the gnocchi was amazing.Popular withHistoryLocalFoodies

I had dinner here on my second night in Palermo. Unfortunately my wife wasn't feeling well so I went alone but I still had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located in a small piazza and in summer has ample outdoor seating. I order tuna steak crusted with sea salt and they served it both warm and wonderfully rare. The best arancini in Catania! You can buy some to go and eat them in the beautiful park right across the street. My two favourite were eggplant and ragù. So crispy on the outside, delicious. You haven't really been to Sicily if you haven't tried arancini and cannoli.Popular withStudentsVegetarianFoodies
