    Piazza Sant'Andrea, 4, Palermo, Italy
    1 review

I had dinner here on my second night in Palermo. Unfortunately my wife wasn't feeling well so I went alone but I still had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located in a small piazza and in summer has ample outdoor seating. I order tuna steak crusted with sea salt and they served it both warm and wonderfully rare. All ...

    Trattoria dl Crocifisso da Baglieri

Via Principe Umberto, 46, 96017 Noto, Province of Syracuse, Italy

I'll be ever thankful to a friend who opened his guidebook and lead me here for one of the best meals in Italy ever. We entered the small cool restaurant, thankful for air conditioning after walking the hot sunny streets of Noto. My friend took photos of everything he ate, while I just savored every bite of a superb lunch. ...

    Il Borgo Di Federico

Piazza Federico di Svevia, 100, Catania, Province of Catania, Italy
    1 review

This is my favourite place to eat out in Catania. It's a trattoria, not a restaurant, so there are no frills or fanciness. However, the food is amazing, and it's dirt cheap. The antipasto buffet is always worth a go, and the grilled meats are delicious. Drink local wine by the carafe and prepare to be rolled home ...

    Monte San Giuliano

    Viccolo San Rocco 7
    1 review

Erice literally dominates the surrounding landscape, that's why it was such a formidable stronghold during the Punic Wars. Eating lunch on the terrace at Monte San Giuliano feels like dining in a hot air balloon hovering over the Sicilian coastline, only it's wonderfully shaded from the summer sun. Oh and the caprese app followed by the gnocchi was amazing.

    A Fera Bio

Istituto Tecnico Agrario Filippo Eredia - via del Bosco

Organic farmers' market every second sunday of the month. Here I ate the best cannolo I've had, with organic cane sugar and girgentana goat ricotta.

    Cantina Siciliana

Via Giudecca, 32, 91100 Trapani, Italy
    1 review

This restaurant is a bit hidden away in the Jewish quarter of town. The place is small, popular and dripping with character. The cuisine here is excellent, combining Italian food with the distinctly maritime culture of Trapani. I remember eating pasta with sardines that was fishy but no less delicious for that.

If you're in Noto, a cheap place to eat well. Not a go-out-of-the-way place though. Good artichokes, I remember.. breaded and roasted and oily... different!

    Pasticcieria Savia

    Via Etnea, 302/304
    1 review

The best arancini in Catania! You can buy some to go and eat them in the beautiful park right across the street. My two favourite were eggplant and ragù. So crispy on the outside, delicious. You haven't really been to Sicily if you haven't tried arancini and cannoli.

    Trattoria Garibaldi

Piazza dell'Addolorata, 1, Marsala, Province of Trapani, Italy
    1 review

Marsala make's the most of its historic status as the launching point for Garibaldi's liberation of Italy. This trattoria, in a handsome neighborhood of the city, sports pictures of the Italian patriot and his exploits on the walls. The atmosphere is definitely upscale and the clientele can be older but that didn't stop me from enjoying my plate of chicken ...
