Tip: Show up before the twilight hour to avoid a line to be seated at the best spot in the lounge.
Tip2: The best view is on the left when you enter the lounge, make sure to ask to be seated in that are.
We ended up lounging around for 3-4 hours drinking and snacking (we tipped our server well) so we could enjoy the cityscape during the twilight period. The drink and the food is over priced and mediocre, but you are paying for the view. This is a better deal than paying for cover to view Chicago on another floor.
The difference between the Willis tower and Hancock is that the Willis tower has the best view of the entire city. Hancock has that awesome glass box for a great photo you can wow people with on social media.
Tip3: Don't make a reservation at the restaurant downstairs, you might end up being seated at the other side of the building (not so great view).
Tip4 for ladies: best view is in the bathroom ;)
Tip5: show up early so you can wait for the seat ear the window.
Tip6: they card you but I saw kids running around in the lounge and in the bathroom...so I assume they're not that strict.Recommended for:

Enjoy the view that you'd get from the observation deck but do it with a cocktail. A really lovely bar offering one of the best views in the city. Yes, it is touristy but it really is special.Recommended for:

If you don't want to battle the crowds to get to the top of the Willis Tower, head over to the Hancock. On the 96th floor, you'll find the Signature Lounge, where you can grab a drink while you take in the fantastic views of the city.Recommended for:

Wow, what a view.
Signature Lounge is located on the 96th Floor of the John Hancock Bldg.
You ride an elevator to the 96th floor in 22 seconds. Yes that quick.
Six of us got there at about 10pm and the sky was clear. The view was breath taking.
The place was packed. Unfortunately we didn't get a table by the window, but the view was still awesome. Our waitress gave us the drink menu and gave us enough time to peruse the choices we had.
I chose the Moscow Mule "Purity organic vodka, Maineroot organic ginger beer and organic lime juices" - it was good and very strong.
Other drinks ordered by our group:
Skyscraper "Cruzan citrus rum, pineapple and cranberry juice" super strong.
Berries in Paris "Pinnacle blueberry vodka, blueberry liqueur, St Germain Elderflower liqueur and prosecco - the prettiest drink I've seen.
Maple Bacon Manhattan "Jim Beam maple bourbon, Bacon infused buttershots liqueur and Bacon - bacon goodness
Price - is on the high side as to be expected, but considering there is no fee to get up here, it's worth it.
Service was just okay, she wasn't rude but she was trying to get us out of there ASAP.
Tip: you can have dinner at the Signature Room. It's on the 95th floor.
Tip: Ladies, go to the restroom. You have a good surprise there. Trust me and bring your camera with you.
Note: the elevator ride down was as fast as it went up and your ears will pop.
I had a great time with my new friends and look forward to seeing them again at the next gathering.Recommended for:

I recommend that you come to this lounge before 5pM, after that it might be pretty packed and you have to wait in line to get up to the floor. We walked to the elevator and someone was there to greet us and press the button for us. The ride up to the 95th floor was about 1 minute. We were greeted and got a table right by the window right away. Time for your photos! The view is pretty incredible. You get to see the coastline of Chicago and the adjacent skyscrapers. Then we ordered our drinks. I got the Jim Bourbon Maple which was pretty sweet and tasted like apple juice, oh well it was pretty good though. The drinks and view are an A+. Service was also quick. This is a perfect place to take for a date.

If you want to see Chicago skyline views from above, without the 2-hour wait from the Willis Tower, then this is your place. Take the elevator to the 96th floor for a bar seat, a cocktail and sweeping views of the Windy City. For a proper dinner, make reservations ahead at the Signature Room. Both have spectacular views and reasonable wait times to be seated. It's free, apart from the drink you will be having. The best time to snap pictures is at dusk, when the sun is setting!Recommended for:

The Signature Lounge is in the 96th floor of the Hancock Building, facing west. At sunset and night there are fantastic views of Chicago and the suburbs that makes the overpriced drinks worth it. The bar is usually busy so you might have to wait for a couple of seats at the tables along the windows.
There's an attached restaurant, but skip it. There's much better food elsewhere.
