A modern hotel with a sleek interior throughout, the Silken Diagonal Barcelona is striking from the silver, bronze and slate toned reception to the guestroom baths. The best feature of the hotel was by far the view over the city from the glass-panelled rooms. The layout of the guestrooms is likely to not be everyone's cup of tea however, as it they have just a glass panel separating the bedroom from the bathroom. Therefore this hotel lends itself more to couples than families or groups. The hotel also has a large restaurant, open for lunch as well as dinner, and popular with local office workers in the midday - bringing life to what might otherwise be a rather quiet eatery out of season (I made my visit in Spring). I found the staff to be helpful, the 3 bars (3!) to all have their own style and be equally cool and inviting (my favourite being on the 10th floor) and the location perfect for getting into the very centre of the city - approx. 10 minutes from the Glories metro station across the street.Recommended for:

This is a very modern hotel aimed at business travelers. It’s very clean and comfortable but the design seems “cold” to me and it’s a bit away from the city center for my liking, although it’s very near some of the city’s up-and-coming museums in Glories, as well as the shiny new Encants Flea Market, and the iconic Agbar Water Tower. Theatre buffs and live music aficionados can head to the El Teatre Nacional de Catalunya or L’Auditori only one metro stop away in Marina, a popular neighborhood for a night out with locals. As for the rest of Barcelona, the hotel is well connected to the rest of the city via Tramvia and Metro. The rooftop pool isn’t huge, but who can complain about a swim with such great views?Recommended for:

Ok so this was my first time staying in Barcelona and was on a cruise and thus did this with AAA. Hotel is actually very nice when you enter, has a futuristic artisitc feel with its decor and couches. Staff is nice and they even have not one but 2 bars in the lobby and one on the 10th floor. The restaurant is also great as I tried their food. Free Wi-fi as well.
However, what earned my bad rating for this hotel and I guess for me is big and may not for others, was the room. The room when I first entered was nice until I saw the bathroom. What the heck, a glass bathroom! With the glass bathroom, everything you did inside the bathroom (except using the toilet) was open in plain view to your rooomate (in this case my mom). Yuck, I didnt want my mom checking me out as my shower. I sent her away and vice versa when I did. I could imagine if I traveled here with friends we would have to leave the room while another takes a shower.
So probably wouldnt come here again to stay, bathroom reasons, the other services were great.

The Hotel is beautiful and very-very modern. Rooms are small but very stylish. The bathroom in the room has glass walls facing bedroom area so this Hotel IS NOT GOOD FOR FAMILY oriented trips. The wall facing outside is also glass so the view is spectacular! The Hotel is situated just at a side of Torre Agbar!!! Also just crossing the street is Glories Station, so you can move easily by train through the city. The Hotel is a little far from airport so take this in mind when making arrangements to return to airport (during day traffic is very busy - you can be late to airport..I was!!!).
