So how do you want to workout; like the dating crowd at the gym or do you want to get outside into nature and enjoy some time in the sun getting your sweat on? This is just one of those times, where you need to learn what is the better direction for you.
Pro Tip: The circumference of the park on the sidewalk is 1.9miles for 1 lap.
For me, I like to be out and about when I workout as often as possible. It allows me to relax much much more while I enjoy seeing, listening, and experiencing life in ways that the gym or the couch never will. Yeah we may have some obstacles here around Silver Lake Reservoir, but doggie landmines and tree roots are not that hard to avoid are they? I enjoy coming over to this place to walk or hike around it. This allows me to build up a good sweat while just enjoying some people watching enjoying being outside.
There is a doggie park on the south end of the reservoir as well as a kiddie park. On the eastern edge, is a large greenbelt allowing for picnics stretching or whatever.
Pro Tip #2: There is a public bathroom on the southern side next to the playground =)
So you want to spice this workout up a little bit? The dip at the south end and the small hillock on the northeastern corner is not enough to make you huff n puff? Well if you look on the eastern edge between the dog park and the greenbelt, you will find a couple of streets that are killers and great for training your body. One is about a 10-12% grade that is over a hundred yards long and the other is about an 8-10% grade that is about 50 yards and then another 50 yds of stairs. These are great for making you push yourself and getting into shape.
Great place to get sweaty and enjoy being outdoors a lil bit in the Urban Jungle known as Los Angeles!

Numerous pluses: convenient workout locale, a relaxing meadow area and a popular dog park. But it's the gorgeous scenery that makes this a must-vist. The reservoir itself is clear, vibrant and altogether dreamy. The surrounding hills also offer a wealth of gorgeous architecture.
Sunsets are spectacular here, and the crowds dissipate after dark -- the perfect time for a romantic walk around the reservoir, which beautifully reflects the night sky.

Adjacent to this reservoir is a little meadow and a dog park. It's a great place to jog or take a brisk walk around. There is plenty of street parking around the area.
