A room at this lodge-themed hotel isn't the only affordable part. There is also a great, cheap buffet and drinks that are much more fairly priced than most other places in Vegas. There are also plenty of free drinks to go around for those who spend time in the casino.

Was here to film a wedding for my wedding videography company. They have an amazing aquarium, a decent sized banquet room with a dance floor, projector, stage, screen. Good casino with lots of penny a lot machines, good buffet, low min tables, and a random outdoor sporting goods store for fishing... Kinda random but also pretty hilarious. They should take down the giant "restrooms" sign above the double doors or cover it at least when the bridal party enters through it.

This is a unique property off of the Las Vegas Strip that is affordable, has good food, and has a massive Bass Pro Shops attached to it. They have a really cool aquarium, and this is a fun place to spend an afternoon. I have not stayed in the hotel.

For an "off the Strip" hotel (though it's a 7 minute cab ride to the Mandalay Bay), the Silverton is fabulous. It has to be the next up and coming big thing, because it has more to offer than anyone who hasn't been there could realize. Right next to Outdoor World (Bass Pro Shops), it shares a magnificent fountain and indoor waterfall with the 3-story camping/bait and tackle shop and features an enormous aquarium in the lobby. (We were greeted by a MERMAID. Yes, a human mermaid.) Their buffet is to DIE FOR, and at $17 for everything including alcohol, lobster, and steak, is a winner compared to everything else on the strip. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the guest service is impeccable - my friends had their room comped for the entire weekend because one of them is a frequent gambler at the Silverton's casino. Plus, with a great array of bars and restaurants, and can't-be-beat prices on in-casino bar drinks (I played Blackjack for 2 hours and got 4 free drinks, but if I had paid for the 3 margaritas and Mai Tai they would have totaled $20), it is an economical choice as well. But the bang for your buck is incredible. I am DEFINITELY staying here again!

Located South of the Las Vegas Strip, the Silverton is a great property. It has undergone several renovations and the latest iteration looks fantastic. Very woodsy, but a bit modern at the same time. A great variety of restaurants to choose from One of the great features of the casino is a huge fish tank with Sting Rays as well as other fish. A must see. Also if you get board with the casino or the fish, take a stroll thru the Bass Pro Shop (it’s attached to the hotel) and while your are there buy a boat with all of your winnings. . Live it up, you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!

This hotel’s theme, at least from the exterior, is a woodsy lodge—an interesting choice in the southwestern desert. The room and bathroom were both much plainer and smaller than I expected. A random aspect I liked, however, was the reasonably priced mini-bar; an elusive component in the hotel world today. The snacks and drinks (beer included) could all be obtained for about one to three bucks. The fitness center is open 24 hours but the pool closes at 6 p.m., which is a shame in the summertime when there are still hours of sunlight left in the day. The pool area is scenic, though, with its tropical shades of green and blue, palm-bordered cabanas and cocktail service. Evening concerts are often held on the stage adjacent to the pool. There are varied dining options here, including the whimsical and aquatic Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge, a Johnny Rocket’s and a 24-hour Starbucks.
