I never heard about the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia (even though I live in the area and the museum was opened in 2008) until a friend visiting from New York told us about it and wanted to go there. I am not into cars and wasn’t too excited to go to this museum but what a treat it ended up being even for me (I must admit, the cars there are so photogenic and I like taking pictures – so it was a perfect match). For people who like cars, and especially racing sports cars, this is a ”must visit” place. This is a very impressive collection of racing cars, some are very rare and all have a story to tell. The cars date back to the early 20th century. It takes about an hour to see the cars and read about them. Some of the cars are placed in front of murals that enhance a story behind a car or a race it participated in. There is a demonstration once a month when they take 2 or 3 cars to their lot in the back and drive them. It’s better to visit the museum on one of the demo days.Recommended for:Family Travelers
