Sentosa is like its own little world and in some ways it reminds me of Disneyland. They're in their own little bubble of touristy attractions, but unlike Disney (which I find rather boring), they have a lot of fun attractions - mostly involving animals. You can check out tons of insects and birds at the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom, ...

The Chinatown section of Singapore is very extensive and is filled with shops and restaurants. My favorite part was seeing groups of local men playing games out by the courtyard. There's also a small street full of vendors selling souvenirs and assorted knick knacks.

    Clarke Quay

    106 reviews

Clarke Quay is a river walk filled with shops and restaurants. There are also boats that will take tourists along the river. It looks a bit dead and sterile during the day due to the sweltering heat I think, but the place really comes alive at night when everything is lit up and the after-work crowd appears.

    Gardens by the Bay

It's like stepping into a fantasy world, like Pandora. The Super Trees are so beautiful when they were lit up at night. And the view of The Marina Bay Sands in the background was just astonishing!

    Night Safari

You have to be lucky when you plan to come here. Well still this is a place where everybody should at least experience. Get insect repellent as well as portable fans and lots of water in case you dry out. One thing which I really like is the Performance Shows with the animals at night. it's really something amazing when ...

    Singapore Botanic Gardens

    55 reviews

Nominated as a World Heritage Site (Singapore's first), the Singapore Botanics Garden dates back to 1859. It is a great place to be introduced to tropical flora. Giants with enormous buttress roots and bizarre and fascinating works of nature - from cannonball flowers to palms with aerial roots. Pay a fee to go in the orchid garden. It is worth ...

    Singapore Zoo

    50 reviews

This is a well thought out zoo design with lots of options for getting around: on foot, by train etc. There are thoughtfully provided cooling stations around the place to make sure you don't overheat. I enjoyed the afternoon tea treats with the opportunity to handle animals - in my case an Iguana which was weird but great.

    Jurong Bird Park

    47 reviews

I had a lot of fun at Jurong Bird Park and it was a good change of pace from the Historic Heritage walks around the city, but I think it was a little hyped. Probably great if you've got a family, but I still enjoyed seeing all the different bird species myself.

    Singapore Cable Car

    42 reviews

Definitely creepy but the views are good (if a bit industrial). I wouldn't put it at the top of my list but worth a stop if you've seen most things and happen to be on Sentosa or Mt. Faber. Occasionally gets stuck.

    ION Orchard

    40 reviews

The latest and greatest addition to the Orchard Road shopping scene. A nice collection of high end boutiques in an attractive modern setting. Despite the great architecture, somehow it fails to have a soul. I prefer Paragon, Mandarin Gallery, Tangs, or Club 21.

Chilli Crab!!!!! Sit outside along the water with the nighttime view of all the ships coming into port.
