I couldn't have been more pleased than to stumble upon Sitar on my one evening in Nadi. I wasn't too impressed with the town as a whole, so finding this delightful Thai-Indian fusion restaurant just up the street from my hotel was like striking gold. With such an amazing climate, I can't figure out why many restaurants in Fiji are indoors - and Nadi especially seemed like just one long string of tropical hovels. Not Sitar. The place has a charming east Asian ambiance, with most of the seating on an outside deck. There's also an indoor section, but it's open to the deck and the bar area is indoor/outdoor (perfect!). Service was good and the food was eclectic, interesting and delicious. Waiting for my order offered a great opportunity just sip a beer and people watch under a tropical sky. The place was very busy, but not overly crowded, and there is also lively foot traffic along the road that can be seen from the deck. This is the kind of place you wish was just down the street from your home, wherever you live.

We've dined at Sitar, after dropping guests at Nadi International for their flights, for the past year. The last few meals have been very average but our meal January 3 caused me to write this review. When the restaurant first opened we could always depend on good quality curries and Thai dishes BUT our last meal most of the food was inedible. Its just progressively gotten worse to the point where we won't be back. Hopefully this review will attract some attention and the management will take notice. And to other diners, if you've not eaten at Sitar recently I would highly recommend trying another restaurant.
