Imagine if you took a classic ski lodge and made it over with a more hipster vibe and you would get a pretty good idea of what the Sky is like. The rooms themselves are comfortable, with great beds, but are not amazing (especially given what they charge you). The staff is very friendly, though, and they have a free shuttle and loaner bikes you can take around town. Heard a lot of buzz about the bar, but it was pretty quiet the whole time we were here. I had a good time but the hotel definitely has a touch of shabbiness to it that is unfortunate - chipped off veneer on most of the furniture covered up by permanent marker. Overall enjoyed my stay, but will probably check out other options next time I come.

We stayed here in the fall, and loved it. It is located at the base of the mountain, a couple blocks from the center of town. Probably among the more hipster properties in town. The lobby decor has a touch of Alice in Wonderland...with oversized chairs and cool furniture. Couldn't find anything wrong with our room, which included a portable canister of Oxygen. Which proved to be helpful for my wife, who is anything but used to high altitude living. Fun property. Entirely unique and location is exceptional.Recommended for

The Sky is a funky, fun, ski lodge gone big time with zero attitude. I mean, the carpets are zebra-striped, as are the infamous robes, in cheetah or zebra. It's a fun and gimmicky, a little bit of a cheesy Vegas feel in the mountain town of Aspen.
The staff clearly has fun at work, and it shows in the service they provide. Cute door guys too! 39 degrees is THE place for apres, the hot tub and pool are always a raging party scene after skiing, and the food in the lounge is pretty good too. Sliders are probably the best bet.
