Blink and you might miss this cool little boutique hotel on Westwood Blvd. Conveniently located walking distance next to Westside Pavilion and several great restaurants, and close to the 10 FWY, the Sky Hotel is a great option if you're looking to stay in West LA.

There are less than 30 rooms in what seems like a converted motel, with a tented courtyard and a quaint little lobby that serves complimentary continental breakfast in the mornings. If you have a car, there's a tiny parking lot in the back for $15/night. The rooms are nicely renovated with chic furnishings and fixtures.

Service is friendly, and as it is such a small hotel, the manager on site is your go-to guy if you need anything. From moving your car, to helping with your bags and checking you in/out.

This modern, stylist and friendly boutique hotel is absolutely pleasant. The standard room is tiny, but modern and welcoming, and service particularly good. All, the basic breakfast, Internet & daily fresh cookies are great complements, though overnight parking ~ $11. Average restaurants and shops are in the area; however, major traveler’s attractions and the beach are within 10mins drive.

Booked a room 4 days ago, something has since come up and I need to cancel. They want to charge 50% of the stay even though the trip is more than 3 weeks away. Nowhere on their web site is this policy mentioned nor is it in the policies or fees section of the site I booked this hotel through.
Stay away. This is a hair away from being a scam.

I almost missed it as I drove down Westwood Blvd, as the façade looks more like a shop or trendy salon than a hotel. I liked the central spaces more than the guest room interiors, whose grey walls and silver furniture I found rather monochromatic. The reception lobby looks French Revolution retro, with chairs and sofas that might belong in a modern Versailles. The enclosed courtyard atrium – my favorite spot in the hotel – has a warmer, cozy feel, with awnings, teal-colored chandeliers, padded wicker furniture, and a live birch tree growing from the center. There’s a wine bar, but since they have no liquor license, they’ll be handing you a corkscrew to open it yourself once you choose your bottle off the wall. All wines are $30, but as they’re all labels you can commonly buy for about $7, head to the store on the way back to the hotel, and save yourself the markup. Actually, that’s how I felt about the hotel in general – a bit too pricey for what you get.

Even many Westwood locals are surprised to learn about the Sky Hotel’s existence. Popular with corporate travelers, there tend to be a number of extended-stay guests at any one time. It’s also convenient for visiting families of UCLA students. With only 28 rooms, the Sky’s vacancy rate is pretty low.

The property has the feel of a very low-key, proto-boutique hotel. I like that rooms are stylish, and that the couches in the center courtyard area are cozy. WiFi is free throughout, and overnight parking is $15 per day, but there are only 16 spots. Unfortunately, there’s no pool, hot tub or fitness center. There’s a wine bar of sorts in the lobby, but my advice is to forgo its $30 bottles of Fetzer and walk up the street to Wally’s—one of the best wine stores in all of L.A. Also, there’s a ton of great Persian food around here.
