If you want to combine your love of seafood, sweet desserts and viewing stunning lakes, soaring mountains and immense blue sky then you are lucky as the Skyline Restaurant in Queenstown has that combination. It costs 51 NZD per person and you arrive there by riding the Queenstown Gondola. The main seafood fare on offer are smoked trout, mussels and fresh prawns and seafood cocktail. Like most buffets it has the salad section with smoked meats, roast meat of beef, lamb and pork and an array of different curries available. Of course no buffet is complete without the mandatory dessert section, which encompasses black forest jelly cakes, fruit salad, ice cream in cute containers, cake slices and dessert tasters in little glasses. There is also a cheese platter, tea and coffee available to finish off a great evening. The dinner also has entertainment but the songs are bit too sombre for happy occasions. But the real star of the buffet is the stunning view of Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown!
