I have mixed feelings about Slanted Door. The food was okay. It was fairly straightforward and simple Vietnamese food. The cellophane noodle dish was pretty good. For what you're getting, however, the place is way overpriced. I've had better Vietnamese food for much much much much less.
On the other hand, if you're willing to shell out the money and you're from out of town it is ~almost~ worth it for the gorgeous view of the bay. You're right there. It's so pretty.
I will say, however, that their carnival or circus dessert (or whatever it's called) was interesting. I'd never been so intrigued by cotton candy before.

Came here and got the organic chicken clay pot, and oh my goodness is it heaven. They cook it really well so you get a lot of flavor and a lot of good taste for $19. Highly suggest coming here for a date or dinner with a friend. Bon Apetit!

Food here is okay. Not sure why its always so crowded. I've tried eating here a few times and always been disappointed with the service and food. The only thing worth trying here is their cellophane noodles with crab. It's on the sf 7x7 list. That's the only dish I enjoyed.

I absolutely love this place! I love the location and the ambiance. It is located in the Ferry Building looking out at the water. The interior is trendy and feels very spacious.
They say it is Vietnamese food but I feel like they have more of an asian fusion menu. I love their green papaya salad!! To die for!! I also love the organic chicken claypot (caramel sauce, thai chili, fresh ginger) - wowser!
To drink I ordered the lychee infused Iced Tea and it was yummy as well. I tried my friends lemonade and it was very fresh.
My only complaint, well actually not really a compliant but something I didn't like was that the tables were very close together and it is quite loud and there was quite a bit of echo.
But I highly recommend this place. I've only been there for lunch and the atmosphere is great!Recommended for:Trendsters

Been here about twice. Overpriced and it's vietnamese fusion place that's catered to americans of course. The food is quite good. If you're looking for authenticity in taste, don't go here. Make reservations. Dress to impress if you're taking your date here.
