A more mellow mountain than Bear Mtn. Better for skiers and folks uninterested in contending with aggressive snowboarders. About two mi. from Paradise Pines Lodge. Head down Moonridge and turn left on Evergreen. (do not have to go all the way down the hill to BB Blvd). Follow 1 1/2 mo. to Summit Blvd. Turn left.

Snow Summit is one of two ski resorts part of Big Bear Mountain Resorts. It's great for beginners to learn how to ride or ski. Most runs are of beginner or intermediate level; wide and easy to navigate. Westridge run has beginner to advance jumps and jibes, but for the skier or rider looking to practice their tricks, I recommend going to Bear Mountain over Snow Summit.
A weekend visit during peak season are not worth it in my opinion due to the crowds, so try to visit during the weekdays. Night sessions may not have many runs open, but provide a fun and cheap ride at just $33 for adults, 3-9:30PM.

Great place to learn how to snowboard/ ski, the instructors are so nice & helpful. =)
Thank you Aaron for being such a wonderful & patient instructor w/us. We really appreciate that. =)
Snow was kinda hard since its beginning of the season & most of the snow was man made.
But I liked it that it wasn't crowded at all & hardly any traffic on the way coming up.
This place is SO much better than Mt. Baldy =) but Vail , Colorado beats any ski place in Cali... =)

I don't think there is a better place to snowboard near OC than here. I really like coming here whenever I wanted snowboard (actually, before these 2 times it's skiing). I decided to snowboard b.c. you look much cooler when you snowboard than when you sky. It's all about looking cool ya know, he he he he.
When I first learn snowboarding, I took a lesson with Nick. Nick was an amazing instructor and I felt like they really wanted us to learn and be able to start snowboarding on our own. At one point, our class almost had a one on one instruction time to try and help us out. At the end of my lesson, I was also to go down the bunny slop and was really proud of myself. Nick is an amazing instructor and would ask him to be my private instructor is I want to do a private or private group lesson.
The second time, however, was a WASTE OF MONEY and WASTE OF TIME. Our instructor gave us an hour lesson rather than the two hours lesson. Joey counted the time they took to organize us into different intermediate class as our learning time. Our class time really didn't start until 10:30 rather than the 9:45 it was suppose to start. Then, our class ended at 11:30, whereas my friend was in another intermediate group ended at 12:30. I felt like I was being RIBBED OFF! If you have Joey has an instructor, ask to be placed somewhere else.
