I didn't expect to find such a peaceful hotel, away from noisy traffic so central in front of the Villa Borghese and very close to Via Veneto. The Spanish steps are only a short walk away. Decently sized, clean room but with carpet - comfortable bathroom, the furnishings are somewhat unexciting but still pleasant. I recommend the rooftop terrace with its restaurant - go there and watch the sunset! Staff is efficient and always available.Recommended for:

As if immersed in an oasis of peace, along a quiet road, only steps away from Villa Borghese and minutes from Via Veneto, the hotel welcomed us with kind and caring staff ready to help us with any of our needs. Bedroom decor wasn't the best, but clean room with minibar and air-conditioning and a lovely marble bathroom. Excellent restaurant.Recommended for:

Aah Sofitel. Let's talk about the service in this place. It is over the top fantastic. The rooms are good too -- not the best design I have ever seen, but they've got a lovely, luxurious feel. The bed was absolutely divine. I have never slept in a bed like that! I enjoyed the deluxe Hermes toiletries and the super fluffy towels (like the bed!). The terrace bar/restaurant was great -- open late and really romantic for gazing out over the city. You could get lost in all those lobbies. The excellent detail there is that because they've got so many little nooks, you can always find a private corner amidst the public space.Recommended for:

The fact that the Sofitel isn't in my favorite Roman 'hood faded quickly into the dark Latin night as soon as I got up to the roof terrace. The view rivals the Gianicolo hill, and the service is friendly and attentive. I do like the casual (read: rude) style of typical Roman service sometimes, since it gets right to the point, but this was definitely a nice break. The rooms are big and clean and the beds are ridiculously comfortable.Recommended for:
