One of the treasures of St. James is the Sofitel Hotel with its stunning architecture, sophistication and comfort, all set on an impressively restored English heritage building that once housed Cox’s and King’s Bank. The British/French décor in the lobby and throughout the hotel along with the remarkable black piano on the mezzanine further beautify the ambiance. The rooms are generally a fusion of French modernism and British elegance where classic and contemporary elements blend into a perfectly enjoyable atmosphere. The comfortable bedding, sophisticated lighting and high-tech apparatus add to the character and comfort of each guestroom. The SoFIT and SoSPA are outstanding health facilities perfect for unwinding, whilst the Brasserie Roux serving modern French cuisine along with St. James Bar serving creative cocktails are ideal preludes to a memorable night out. On top, the stylish ‘Rose Lounge’ is one of the most attractive settings to enjoy British High Tea in London, especially for the outstanding and memorable guest service. The hotel is set on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, in St. James, a prestigious and lively area of central London, close to St. James’s Park, Buckingham Palace, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, major theaters, and the famous shopping streets including Regent, Piccadilly, Carnaby, Oxford and Bond streets. The experience is relatively overvalued.

This gorgeous luxury hotel has a classic feel and is located in an extremely beautiful, central part of London. Part of a global chain, it doesn't have the one of a kind feeling of a small boutique hotel, but is definitely a sure option for safe, comfortable accommodation.Recommended for:

Hands-down the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. The service is fabulous throughout the hotel and the facilities immaculate and top-notch. When I arrived, it was like the red carpet had been rolled out for me. The room has the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in and the amenities within the room are worthy of royalty. Here is the best part....I got a steal on the room via Priceline and then upgraded to a luxury room with extra bed for 60 quid a night! The room is on the top floor with views of Big Ben and the London Eye, yet steps away from Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. My next London trip will likely involve a trip back to this hotel. I can't recommend this one enough.Recommended for:

This is a chain, but clean and comfortable hotel. Small rooms but conveniently located near Waterloo, which is the station that can get you to Paris if you're taking the train over. Think they're listed with several of the travel websites like "hotels.com" if you want to book in advance and get a better deal.
