One of the most uniquely designed museums in the world the Guggenheim has a spiral architecture designed to optimize the art viewing experience. The idea is that you want to start by taking the elevator to the top and effortlessly work your way down.

Was quite disappointed since most of the exhibits are closed for renovation when I visited. Only the main permanent exhibits remained open to public but that is a really small portion of what the museum usually has to offer. There are some good collection but I can't say I was all that impressed. The museum building itself is stunning (so as most of Frank Lloyd Wright 's work). Audio tour is included in the entrance fee which is nice. A museum visit is just not the same without one.

This is my favorite of the major museums. Comparatively small, it isn't too daunting so it is very easy to visit and feel like you've "seen it" without being overwhelmed or too hurried.
The collection consists of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early Modern, and contemporary art housed in a stunning Frank Lloyd Wright building. A must see that won't leave you with museum fatigue.

Very famous museum, probably as much for their collection as for the multiple times the place is used in TVs and movies. In a nice touch, the free audio tour player also can play recordings to talk about the architecture of the place as well as about some of the art pieces.

The Guggenheim Museum in New York is one of those museums you will visit for its novel circular design, rather than its modern art. Its exterior is truly spectacular! Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the cylindrical museum building, wider at the top than the bottom, is one of the 20th century’s most important architectural landmarks. It was featured in several movies, most recently being 2009’s The International with Clive Owen, and its lobby hosted several special events; even the eccentric Lady Gaga launched her Fame fragrance inside the Guggenheim, while guests and attendees watched her sleep.
Tickets: Instead of a regular $22 ticket, bear in mind Saturdays, from 5:45 to 7:45pm, the same “Pay What You Wish” admission as at the Met and at the ANHM goes into effect.Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers

I love that exhibits at the Guggenheim are rarely divided into rooms, rather you can just walk up the spiraling middle of the building to see the entirety. I was here for the Richard Prince exhibit, which I loved. I've also just gone for fun without a specific agenda.
