Ko Phi Phi, Thailand — Arguably the best pad thai to grace the backpacker's palette, Song's pad thai certainly has international fame and the walls do speak for its flavor.
I'm not a huge pad thai fan as I've been a little pad thai'd out and favor the curries, but I will say Song's pad thai is tasty. It's on the sweet side, which may appeal to western palettes. An order of egg and shrimp pad thai (80THB / $2.66) fills me up, but some wall comments reveal larger appetites. Some diners boast eating up to 4 plates of pad thai!
If pad thai is your passion and you're in Ko Phi Phi, find your way to the Ko Phi Phi local food market and budget $3 a plate. Bring some markers and paper if you'd like to memorialize your experience creatively for other travelers to read.
Song's Pad Thai — Located in the local food market stalls. Mentioned in Lonely Planet. Ask about or wander around to find it. Ko Phi Phi, Thailand. Meal for two, about $6
