Naples is definitely my favorite city with its lively and mystic character. The city overflows with culture, italian cuisine and small alleys :-) Go here if you want to visit the real authentic Italy. It's rough, dirty, noisy yet absolutely beautiful.

Positano is a picture-perfect village on the Amalfi coast, with brightly colored houses clinging to the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Like all of Italy, it is a little touristic, but less so than its larger neighbor, Sorrento, and its charm is tough to match. There is a nice little stony beach here where you can hang out.

Well preserved, ironically, due to the volcanic ashes that fall from nearby Mount Vesuvius that also led to the city's destruction. This ancient site evoked a variety of emotions in me - awe, wonder, sadness and curiosity.

Beautiful town above the Amalfi Coast somewhat back from the coastline which means fewer tourists. World Heritage site with plenty of parking for once!

Bit less crowded that Sorrento or Positano but well worth exploring if you're doing the Amalfi Coast.

Anacapri is as beautiful as Capri, but is not nearly as crowded or commercial feeling as Capri tends to be, especially during the spring and summer.

Italy's smallest community sits like a jewel box overlooking the sea. A tiny village with a lovely town square and church plus friendly locals. Worth a stop.
