    The Ritz-Carlton Santiago

    The Ritz-Carlton Santiago

I always wondered whether the Ritz-Carlton was named after the word ritzy, or if the word ritzy derived from the glam and storied Ritz hotels. When you walk into this Ritz, in one of Santiago's toniest neighborhoods, you are inclined to think the word was derived from the hotel. The place just smells like wealth, and it has to be ...

I knew this was a great place to party and meet people when I walked inside in the middle of the day and people were drinking and just lounging around. Milhouse has a big bar area and London telephone booths for those who need a private area to chat with family or friends, and wifi all throughout the hostel. Also, ...

You wouldn't know if you're in Lima, Peru or Orange County, California. The hotel has all the bells, whistles and no character as you'd expect from a hotel of this class. BTW the location shown is incorrect (unless there are two JW hotels in Lima). The one I stayed in is next to the Larcomar mall in Miraflores.

    Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge

    Hotel Class:

The Sanctuary Lodge is all about location. This is a great place to stay for relaxing easy access to the ruins. That said, the pricing is exorbitant for what is basically a 3 star hotel. Service is excellent but at 1,100 USD a night during our stay, it was hard not to feel gouged. Rooms are very basic. There are ...

Room was surprisingly spacious and clean. The one problem was that it didn't have a plug for the sink and the desk didn't have a spare. Take one with you as a precaution. Good selection of food for the breakfast buffet.

There’s no getting away from it. This hotel is spectacular! I spent time wandering around the inhouse art exhibitions along the Paseo de Arte (a long corridor of Argentine art exhibited in the hotel). I also enjoyed walking around the beautiful gardens. The hotel is split into two separate buildings and the gardens are in the middle. It was one ...

Visiting the Iguazu Falls was a incredible experience. Staying at the Hotel das Cataratas adds "awesomely" to that already incredible experience. Located just steps, yes steps from the Brazilian side of the Falls, we were able to stroll down to the trails that lead to foot of the falls right from the hotel. Awesome! There is something to be said ...

Bait is a very popular hostel! Everyone in Buenos Aires seems to know it and recommend it. It's pretty small, only a few dorms and a few private rooms, but most people hang out in the common room. The kitchen is totally equipped with everything including an oven, and once the staff made an amazing dinner event, cooking up a ...

Three things stood out about this hotel: one, they have bidets in the bathroom – not typical in Chile! Two, the pool, though small, is beautiful and tranquil, with a fountain, a Buddha statue and a bamboo garden. And three, the elevator has one of those glass walls in back, so you can see the city as you're climbing up ...

Whoever designed this building was going for “wow,” and they got it. The circular building is hollow in the middle, so when you walk into the lobby, you can't help but stare upwards at the sunlit tube of a hotel. The rooms are equally wow. Some of the suites even have their own patio and yard, even though they're perched ...

Great for a quiet and tasty brunch. This is a small hotel that doesn't have many tables, no more than 10. So attention is perfect, and the decoration is really nice, plus you have the view to the patio. Options on the menu are limited but, they are enough to enjoy, only salads and brunchs. I've asked for a revuelto ...
