The casino is wide and big. but not much people playing there. It's about 10 miles from the strip. My mother complained that the slots machines were old. And the games were not updated ones.
If I do come back again is to check out the spa. As one of the yelpers stated they have a waterfall cascading massage. :-)
Other then that, I have not much to say about this casino. But as they say, once you're inside a casino, all of them kind of look the same. The slots, the tables, etc...

Review is for hotel only, I didn't gamble here.

Lovely casino that needs a bit more, can't say what but it's very spacious but missing content. Needs more oomph. Overall everything was new. Price was reasonable. Decent.

Downfall was the shuttle from TI to SouthPointe took over an hour. It stopped at 5 different places for long periods of time. Google mapped it beforehand and looked like an easy access location but it's actually out there...nothing is around, kinda loses the in city feel.

Our room was very spacious and the bed was ginormous but just not comfy. Very awkward arrangement with a huge void space that looks unfurnished. See pictures. Checking out was a pain, service desk was super slow. With the selection of hotels in the area, this wouldn't be my top few choices.

I have to agree with others, this place is huge. Its a long walk to your room thru a smoky casino. The carpeting in the hall way is stretched out and no longer flat.

The room I had was good sized, with a two room bathroom. Interesting concept. Coffee maker in the room too.

It is a good distance from the strip. Cab ride is a good $20+ one way.

Great inexpensive hotel that is still technically on the Strip, but its about 3-5 miles South of the furthest most Strip hotel (Mandalay Bay). The rooms are huge...HUGE...for what your paying for. And they are very nice. Plenty of parking available. They have a shuttle service to the Strip to drop off and pick up guests which is great saving so you dont always need taxi. Has a movie theater and a pretty big pool to enjoy as well. One of my favorite off the Strip places to stay in Vegas.

Located south of the Las Vegas Strip on Las Vegas Blvd. This is a great property. A spacious casino and great restaurants (See separate reviews, coming soon).South Point has the only dedicated Race Book in Las Vegas, go any day, place a bet on your favorite horse, take a seat in the huge Race Book, have a cocktail and a 75 cent hot dog and watch the money roll in. Live it up, you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!

Note: This review is for the casino ONLY.

I went here one night with some friends to have some drinks and play some video poker at the bar. The smell of the casino (all the smoke) gave me a migraine. Also, the drinks were horrible. I'm assuming since they are free (because we were gambling), they put more juice and little to no alcohol. So I decided to order something that is pretty much straight alcohol, hoping it would taste a little more like an alcoholic beverage than juice, so I ordered a Long Island. Unfortunately it tasted like an amaretto sour, with lots of SOUR, little amaretto. It tasted nothing like a long island iced tea. Where's the tons of alcohol with a SPLASH of coke? Definitely not in this drink! Even when another bartender made it, it tasted the same. All the sweetness from these drinks gave me the worst stomach ache EVER. Needless to say, when my friend invited me back here for drinks, I declined. The casino reminded me of an older casino, maybe Sunset Station. Not returning!

This is our stand-by hotel for visiting Las Vegas on a budget. When prices are crazy on the Strip and downtown, too, check out what rates South Point is offering. If you've got your own car, it's about a 15-minute drive south of the Strip (sometimes the hotel offers a limited free shuttle service for guests). Rooms are clean, and unusually spacious compared with what you'll find on the Strip. For the best deals, sign up for email and snail-mail promotional discounts on the South Point's website, because they usually don't offer discounts on their website or via Facebook or Twitter. I usually pay $50 or less per night for a room here, and sometimes I've gotten buy-1-get-1-or-2-free specials. It's nothing fancy, but it's a budget life-saver, with a 24-hour bowling alley and a movieplex, too.

It's definitely far from the strip, but if you have a car and don't mind the drive, South Point can be really nice. The rooms are huge, and so is the casino. The decor and rooms are nicely put together and don't feel cheap. The coolest thing is the bowling alley. If you're into bowling, South Point is awesome! There are so many lanes it's just fun for the whole family.

Way south of the Strip, South Point is a quieter and less flashy hotel/casino. There are various food specials throughout the week, but really nothing spectacular otherwise. It's a good place to start learning how to play at the tables because the crowds are smaller, and the dealers are friendly.

I feel like by now people must think I'm so weird since my reviews for Vegas hotels are so hit and miss between the good/the bad and the ugly, but really South Point is quite a nicer property than it's been made out to be.

First of all, I have yet to find another hotel with Bath and Body works products. Score?!?! Although I love boutique hotels with their hard to pronounce soaps and shampoos that's got little grids on the bars or some scrubber thing, but B&Bworks simply smells great. I love the smell of the shower / bathroom after because its so fragrant. This may not be the best reason to love a hotel but what the heck.

The tables here are similar to what I experienced at the Excalibur, sans massive amounts of smoke and suffocation, the air conditioning / filtration is actually quite good. I haven't eaten here, because by this time I've decided to use money saved towards finer dining but they had some great late night cheap eats.

It's clean, it's comfortable, it's a departure from the madness of the strip, so you will have to drive a bit but it's a far cry better than the Luxor if that was your second choice.
