WOW! Funny story...My friend and I were driving at night for the first time to the Getty. We saw the winding grey "road" and thought we had to drive up that path. Thank Goodness we didn't! Instead, a lovely tram ride took us there while we enjoyed the night view up to the Getty. I studied architecture so it was ...

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

5905 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, United States
    4.5
    92 reviews

This is the kind of museum you can get blissfully lost in for hours. Even when I lived in LA, I never got tired of wandering through the exhibition halls, which are even bigger and better than before now after recent multimillion-dollar renovations. Personally, my fave is the low-lit Japanese art gallery, where you walk around a circular spiral stairway ...

I'm all for cool, free things to do in LA and this is one of the best! The Observatory is an amazing piece of LA architecture with an even better view. It also has a cool history as it became the iconic film location for Rebel Without A Cause's climactic scene. The exhibit inside the Observatory is also pretty interesting. ...

Gonna try to make this review short: Hidden precious gem located in LA, walking distance to syrup dessert (yum) and Exchange LA. A cool place to explore if you want a taste of LA, love artsy interior design or if you're a book lover. Don't forget to go upstairs, it's my favorite part of the store! Try to show up ...

If you get the opportunity to see a production/play at the Pantages Theatre, GO!! It is an old piece of Hollywood Glam that newer facilities don't come close to capturing.

A BIIIIIG high five and a BIIIIIG hug to Nelson for giving me this opportunity to explore "the most unusual private club in the world"!!! I got few mixed reviews about this from my friends before I went to the Magic Castle. Some said it was boring and some said it was really "magical". This is definitely a place to ...

I really appreciate it when broadway productions show here instead of my having to make the trek to Los Angeles. Although, sometimes, you just have to watch it in LA for the "full experience." :) Shows I've seen here: **CATS** We had nosebleed seats, so the experience wasn't as great. However, they were free tickets from a family member, so ...

    Bradbury Building

304 South Broadway, Los Angeles, CA, United States

    9 reviews

This is the oldest, active commercial building in central Los Angeles. Not much to look at from the outside it has an amazing interior - a sun bathed inner court with bird-cage elevators, marble paneling, ironwork and Mexican floor tiles. It has been featured in many movies including Blade Runner and Double Indemnity.

    Third Street Promenade

Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, California

I work in the area and am still not over how wonderful the promenade is. There's great food, drinks, performers and shopping to be done! Structures only offer 90 minutes free parking which isn't helpful when you plan to visit the beach and stay half the day. I recommend reserving a parking spot in advance here: http://www.parkme.com/santa-monica-parking/santa-monica-pier Wednesdays: If you ...
