    Brunch and Cake

One of my must-visits, but that's because I love brunch and they make a mean one. They serve American style brunch all day till 10 PM; don't expect anything Spanish-y. But this is where I've had the best eggs benedict (€9.00) of my life. That said, expect an hour wait. Not some place to go with more than 4-5 people. ...

    Dostrece Restaurant

    4.5

Lunch at Dostrece is a feast of freshly cooked cafe-style plates with local produce, vegetarian options, fruity wine and yummy cakes (try the Pastel de Zanahoria - Carrot Cake - if it is on offer on that particular day). The restaurant is situated in the Raval district of the old city, beside La Rambla and close to La Boqueria market, ...

This is absolutely something you have to do when in Madrid. Churros are a Spanish tradition dipped in a chocolate so thick a spoon will stand up in it. It is delicious and fairly inexpensive at about 3 euros per person.

    Can Paixano

    4.5
    15 reviews

Can Paixano, or "Wine Bar," is pretty popular with the locals here. It's been packed every time I've visited (which has been more than a couple times). The wine is cheap and the sandwiches are pretty good. I've heard the tapas aren't bad either, so try that on for size if you're interested. Recommended.

    BUN BO VIETNAM

    3 reviews

Pop along to Bun Bo for Vietnamese flavors beside the Cathedral of Barcelona, Santa Caterina Food Market and Plaça Catalunya. The 9,90 Euros 3-course lunch menu with drink is served from 13:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday and includes fresh and crispy noodles, curries and my personal favorite: crab wraps with sweet chilli sauce. If you find yourself in the ...

Federal is anything but your ordinary cafe. Truly a stand out in a city packed to the brim with great places to eat. The sleek and social set up makes this restaurant a great place to meet with friends for coffee, drinks or a meal. With an Australian influence the menu is far from common for Barcelona fare. To eat the popular homemade dumplings at Mosquito by night it's advisable to arrive 30 minutes earlier than hunger sets in. Put your name on the busy chalkboard and await your table at nearby sister bar Ale & Hop. Daytime is quieter but the atmosphere is just as magnetic. Mosquito has 40 bottled and draft beers on it's menu, as ...

    Pescadors (Els)

Not far from the seafront, nestled on an assuming little square of the former industrial district of Poblenou, you’ll find Els Pescadors. Paying homage to its seafaring roots (the restaurant was originally a tavern where local fishermen and blue-collar workers would shoot the breeze), this is an elegant venue that knows how to woo its clientele. With wood-panelled walls and ...

San Sebastian is famous for its many bars offering a dazzling array of tapas, called Pinxos in Basque. Basically you belly up to the bar, point to what you like, and munch away (with a Zurito (small Beer) to wash it down). Don't worry, they'll keep track of what you eat and drink.
