If you want a truly memorable, stay in aristocratic Rome, this is where you will find it. It’s perfect from every aspect. A totally different experience to the large hotels, you feel like a guest in an old family villa. It is elegant, intimate and luxurious and you are looked after by very professional staff. Surrounded by beauty both inside the villa and outside, the location is perfect. Rome can be explored by foot and even though it’s central, the road is very quiet. Breakfast is abundant and top quality and the wellness centre is perfect after a day in the beautiful but chaotic city.Recommended for:

The villa is located in a gorgeous area surrounded by parks, right in the middle of the city, and around the corner from an excellent contemporary art museum with a killer rooftop restaurant. The villa is set up in this fascinating way – family photos on the all the side tables enable your fantasies that this is YOUR villa or that you are actually friends with the people who own this place and are their cordial guest. The only thing that could pop the bubble of your dream is the snooty manager, but other than that, if you can afford it, this place is deluxe.Recommended for:

The Spalletti Trivelli is a really unique proposition in the hotel business, or at least it's the first hotel I've come across that seems designed to make you literally feel like a member of the old Roman aristocracy. The bottom floor of the villa is decorated with family portraits of the Spallettis, and still decorated like a manor house, complete with drawing and dining rooms. With just 12 rooms in the giant building, it always feels private. Tucked just above the Via Nazionale, it's also very Roman combination of private and central (one of my favorite characteristics of Rome is that it's so full of hidden treasures). Chilling in the garden under the tent on the black sofas is also a very glitterati experience, indeed. All in all, while it's super luxurious and also, interesting to be in that setting, I prefer places that are a little more down to earth. That shouldn't stop anyone from what is sure to be a lovely experience here, however.Recommended for:

A luxury establishment that is happy to cater for special dinners, and basically whatever you want. It's in an actual preserved stately home, which can feel a bit like a museum piece (I don't go to Rome to feel like I'm in Sense and Sensibility, I can do that in England) but the garden is ace. Big, relaxed, really comfortable place to hang out, even with a large group. I'd definitely consider hosting an event here.Recommended for:
