The Spice Souk is located in Deira and is adjacent to the Dubai Gold Souk. The souk comprises several narrow lanes which are lined with open and closed-roof stores.
The stores sell a variety of fragrances, spices, shisha, clothing and other textiles. I love the Souk because you get to haggle and find some wonderful trinkets to take home.
Remember if the price isn't right, walk away and the shop owner will come running out to make a deal.

Fun and worth a visit, but prepare to be accosted by all the sellers. Not really open until after 4 and most fun at dusk when you can take the water taxis back and forth across Dubai Creek between the souks.

Good atmosphere and a nice place to pick up frakincense or saffron to take home. Be careful if you are buying saffron. You need to know what you are looking for or you may end up with inexpensive and culinarily worthless saffron flower.

This is where the city's soul resides and it is absolutely my favorite part of Dubai. It's bustling with locals, tourists, laborers, expats etc... everyone is there. You can find one of a kind treasures and cheesy souvenirs. But most of all this is where you can be a part of old Dubai. If you enjoy cooking, this is a spice paradise. You can also buy dates and other foodie goods. Lots of "natural viagra" around. :o) Enjoy!

The colors, the aromas, the hustle and bustling, and the energy of active trading of the spices are so prevalent here it is absolutely a wonderful experience just walking around and taking in the experience of the spice market.
