Spice Temple in Bligh St is a great Sydney Asian restaurant and a favourite for business lunches. After a short break I returned to find it is still one of Neil Perry’s great ventures.
This was one of the first Asian restaurants in Sydney to deliver a taste of Asia rather than one specific Asian cuisine – and it works! With dishes from the different regions of China – the exception being Cantonese cuisine, the menu presents a choice of smaller and larger plates with some hotter and more spicy – as indicated in the menu.
A good choice for a weekday lunch – especially the dimly lit subterranean location – a Suzy Wong feel.

Expensive but ridiculously delicious food. Yes a dark dining room but I rather like that experience. Makes it feel less cramped. So many amazing dishes - everything was good including the cocktails. Must make a booking and on a slow night if you want more light grab a table at the bar side.

Unfortunately I found the service to be a tad pretentious and insincere while the dining room was a little too dark for my liking. The food on the other hand was delicious. The vegetarian hot pot had the just the right amount of spice and a nice variety of mushrooms. The pickled cabbage was a definite highlight!Recommended for:Vegetarian
