SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North

410 North Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60654
5 reviews

Springhill Suites is one half of a tandem of hotels that combine to form one of the weirder lodging setups I’ve seen. It’s located adjacent to Residence Inn, but really it’s more like the two are just halves of one hotel. Springhill Suites features a lighter, greener color palate and more modern touches. The rooms aren’t laid out as openly ...

    Howl At The Moon

This is probably where I would have ended up, as a musician, if I had lost ALL of my dignity, instead of just some of it. Can be really fun , though.

I like this place because it shows love to locals. Tuesdays people who live in the neighborhood get in for free! The blues and music here is really good so if you want a place to listen to some good music in an unpretentious setting then this is the spot. Drinks are really well priced too!

    The Underground

0.08 mi from SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North
    6 reviews

The scene is young, hip, and very much an it-crowd. With that you will, of course, get the occasional douchebag or a dose of pretentiousness so UG is not everyone's cup if tea. But if you enjoy partying and are cool enough to mind the BS patrons can give every now and then, this is one if the few nightclubs ...

Almost every Saturday and Wednesday in June. This free event is spectacular in how they time the music to the explosions. You can also watch the show along the lake path all the way to Adler Planetarium, but you'll miss the music. Schedule --> http://www.navypier.com/things2do/fireworks.html

    El Hefe Super Macho Taqueria

0.08 mi from SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North

While more conservative Chicagoans are heading to Sunday evening church services, the true party animals of the city are just gearing up for one more night of weekend debauchery at El Hefe's 4210 (4 to 10pm) party. Margaritas the size of your head, a full naughty shots bar (Alligator Sperm, anyone?) and personal table taps turn this taqueria into a ...

Sure, it's a meat market, but if you're in the mood to dance and have a fun time with friends til 5am, it's a pretty cool spot. The bouncers are cool, bartenders are a bit slow, DJ is off the hook, the place is popping (although it can be a struggle to make your way through the crowd)... overall a ...

    Jazz Record Mart

0.18 mi from SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North
    1 review

Since 1959, Jazz Record Mart has been supplying audiophiles with hard-to-find vinyl records. Though the shop bills itself as the “World’s Largest Jazz and Blues Record Store,” there’s also a good selection of world music to unearth here. Jazz and Blues are a huge part of Chicago’s identity, and strolling the aisles is somewhat of a crash course in the ...
