The Cathedral of Amalfi is actually a cloister, crypt, basilica, and cathedral (a new cathedral built beside the old, then combined spaces, then separated again). The crypt is said to house the remains of Saint Andrew; its ceiling is ornately painted and the central altar is made of marble. The basilica, now a museum, has religious artifacts reminiscent of Crown Jewels (albeit incomparable in quantity, grandeur, or state of preservation, they're still interesting to look at). The cathedral is styled in the Baroque, hiding the original interior. It's a quick tour; not a bad idea if you're lounging around, but don't lose sleep over it.

If you're staying in Amalfi, and walking down by the coastline, you'll definitely see St. Andrew's Cathedral. It's one of the most beautiful Cathedrals I've seen on the inside.
