Oh mannnnnnn, this place did not disappoint!

It was a little hard to find since we walked here from the hotel, and it was the restaurant NEXT to the corner spot. So if you're looking ahead, you'll miss it.

Great atmosphere when we walked in and we were greeted warmly.

    Ordered:

Mussels & Shrimp -- Mussels and Shrimp in House Cream and Caper Sauce
Mussels Carbonara -- Cream Sauce with Bacon, Peas, Egg, Garlic and Shallots

They came in a generous cauldron in addition to a side of fries (YUM) and bread.

I LOVED my pot o' mussels. The mussels and shrimp were juicy and I was totally digging the capers out of the sauce.

My co-worker's mussel's were good too and the sauce was great for bread dipping.

St. Arnold's also has an extensive beer list (at least to a nub like me)

I got introduced to 2 really great beers:

Rasberry Lambic -. This didn't taste like a beer at all. More like an Italian Soda! YUM.
Kasteel Rouge Strong Cherry Ale -- This was like a non-fizzy Cherry Coke lol. I liked it a lot too :D

Even though the guy warned us of how HOT the cauldron was, I still managed to burn my arm a little bit even though I was going out of my way to avoid it =_= Grrrr. So BE CAREFUL IT'S HOT.

If ever I get the chance to come to DC again, this is a definite stop again!

If anything, try one of their specials. The night we went, buffalo mussels -and they were amazing. To top if off, they had bread to mop up some of that amazing sauce. That and the mayonnaise sauce that comes with the fries. yum yum yum!

Because of the staff, we didn't get to try their duck fat fries (waitress was new). We did however get another pot of mussels (in a garlic butter sauce) comped. The italian sandwich was also yum with a nice touch from their roasted red bell pepper slices.

The drink list didn't quite impress me, but decent selections. Nice ambiance. Prices are not bad for the portions of food, but QUITE expensive for drinks ($9 a glass?!). Daymn - thus not a 5 stars, but still a great place nonetheless.
