The Palace was built by Henry VIII in 1531 and has been the setting for some of the most importance events in Royal History - Less than 5 minutes from the apartment.

Built by King Henry VIII on the site of a former leper hospital and today the London residence of the Princess Royal, Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy.

Description

One of London’s oldest palaces, St. James’s Palace was commissioned by Henry VIII and constructed in the early 1530s. The historic site sits north of St. James’s Park in Pall Mall, serving as the official residence for notable members of royalty. The most prominent ceremony held here is the ceremony for the Accession Council, a ceremonial body that declares successors to the throne. The Chapel Royal located on premises has been the setting for five royal weddings. Along with the Queen’s Chapel, the two are open to visitors on Sundays. To view the Palace itself, however, you'll unfortunately need to marry into the family as it's not open to the public.
