Although some areas are a bit touristy, especially when a cruise ship comes in, this island is a charming slice of paradise. Stay at Calabash Cove for a romantic, secluded experience and be sure to visit the street party every Friday night in Castrilles. If you are willing to step off the beaten path, St Lucia has a vibrant culture, amazing people and beautiful landscape framed by the imposing Pitons.

St. Lucia is something different for everyone...for someone who loved and now lives in Hawaii...If I was to choose one island in the Caribbean that reminded me of Hawai'i Nei...it would be St. Lucia. I fell in love with this island! This island looks like it belong in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Tahiti...The Rain forests and Mountainous Ridge lines are epic...The HIKING BLOWS YOU AWAY! The beaches are beautiful here and the Food and service are top notch. My issue with this island is the sales pitches and resorts, but o well...you can't win everything, but if you are an adventurer and love the outdoors and the activities you can do there...this is the island to enjoy.

Picture of my sister in the helicopter ride from the airport to our hotel! What a great way to tour the island and get in some more beach time.

My favorite part about swimming in St Lucia was not only the warm water but the access to alcohol in the ocean! It's one of the prettiest islands too!

St Lucia is a great place to go for everyone from the honeymooners to the family vacationers. This island has great beaches, water sports, nature hikes, world class spas and amazing local cuisine. Don't just stay in the hotels though, get out and see the little towns for an even better adventure!

St Lucia is truly a paradise island. You have the stunningly beautiful Soufriere with the majestic pitons on the south west coast to the lively nightlife in the North. I would recommend a twin centre vacation where possible to experience all this island has to offer. There are numerous activities on offer too, zip wire through the rainforest treetops, horse riding, golf and so much more...make St Lucia the destination for your next holiday...you won't be disappointed!

I can't speak enough about how beautiful St. Lucia is. The mountains reach so high and the beaches are so soft and clear. The people there were nothing but hospitable and the food is delicious. I plan to head back here very soon as I grew to miss my time here.

Not the same as any of the other Caribbean Islands. Unique with plenty of activities and good deals since cleaning up from storms this season.

Essentially paradise for people who don't get out much, St. Lucia is most notable as a heavy player in the all-inclusive resort scene, and as a stop-off for various Caribbean cruises. While the island is unquestionably lovely, it feels a bit too much like Disneyland to be thoroughly enjoyable, having oversold its 'island paradise' appeal. With its high prices and dearth of activities not related to the beachside consumption of rum, it should also be of little interest to the independent traveller.

Saint Lucia at 15,000 ft. Probably the most authentic and beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea.

sandy beaches encircle the twin-peaked volcanic island. (Plan your visit now -- reputedly, the volcano is reputed to erupt sometime in the next 100 years.) Visit Sulphur Springs, a 'drive-in volcano,' responsible for the mineral-rich mud and water used by the island's many spas. Hike under waterfalls. Rent a bike and explore one of St. Lucia's heritage trails. Join a beach horseback ride. And, if you'd like to get to know the local community, stop in at one of St. Lucia's many roadside stands or take the local bus around the island. Or, join in the music. The annual St. Lucia Jazz Festival attracts international names, but soca, reggae and island folk music will be wafting from restaurants and homes throughout the year.
