St Pancras Champagne Bar

St Pancras Station, Pancras Road, Camden Town, UK NW1 2QP, United Kingdom
2 reviews

The perfect place for a toast prior to embarking on the Eurostar! Supposedly it is the longest champagne bar in Europe — a reasonable claim since the length of the bar is almost equal to that of the Eurostar parked nearby. The ambiance is slightly cold, still the sitting booths are perfectly heated.

My friend's baby shower was held here. We opted for afternoon tea and an activity which was themed for the event. The afternoon tea was okay, some of the breads were interesting, we had a red bread with hummus that we couldn't work out (why was it red? It didn't taste any different). The cakes were nice and the scones ...

OK, so I have grown up in SoCal and might have a different take on what good Japanese food is. For a chain noodle bar type place, it is not bad at all. And considering London prices, it's not too expensive. But I am by no means overwhelmed by how good it is. If you are looking to eat something ...

Good for large groups. You can share a bunch of dishes. It's all communal seating. The shaking beef is quite good. The curries are fine too. There's one in Bloomsbury and one in Soho.

Quite a hipster vibe - you decide if that's good or not. Worth a visit at pretty much any time of the day - breakfast, lunch, coffee, supper... You get the idea. The avocado on toast is amazing. Get there early for brunch when there are big queues and no reservations.

Lantana is an aussie cafe that has delicious coffee, friendly staff and wonderful food. It's quite busy at lunch time and it can be tough to get a seat, so come early. If you're a fan of Lantana, head to their sister cafe Salvation Jane in Shoreditch as well.

I visit the Camden Head (just off Upper St.) regularly. Garden and area around the pub is always lively and filled, tables are usually a hot commodity, though there is plenty of standing room. Vegetarians and low-fat devotees need not visit. This Argentine steak house (a small chain, mostly based in London) has over a dozen different types of steaks and cuts, along with all things South American and beef-related: empanadas, ceviche, etc. Be warned: It's about £100 per person, minimum, and the noise levels are high.

    Diwana Bhel Poori House

They say that London has great Indian food, but to be honest I was only mildly convinced until I came to Diwana. An extremely casual place near Euston Station, the menu is simple: Pooris (little fried balls filled with potatoes, chick peas, or other treats and covered in a sweetly sour yoghurt sauce) as starters, with a selection of dosas ...
