This resort is so luxurious, with amazing ocean views and a perfect location on the island. A beautiful slice of paradise.

The tippy-top of luxury on Kauai, this is the hotel that starred in the movie version of "The Descendants." While the overly manicured golf course setting can seem sterile, inside the St Regis has airy hallways, tropical trees and flora, and of course killer ocean views that make it feel closer to nature. Even if you don't stay here, a spa appointment here is a romantic worthy splurge.

This place is absolutely amazing...we had our wedding on the beach there...the rooms are pricey but the staff service is impeccable...highly recommend it and the Kauai Grill...the food was fabulous!

The St Regis Resort offers the best place on the north shore, if not the earth, to watch the sun set. The place to watch is called The Living Room so don't come in beach wear. Although one of the most beautiful lobbies in Hawaii was destroyed during the last "renovation", the dining room and lanai were not touched. Although a bit pricy, the St Regis offers a fantastic Sunday brunch. I suggest you eat out on the lanai even if you have to wait. The view are worth the wait. (Note) The dove have little fear of people. When going up for seconds, I suggest one person staying at the table to shew away the birds.

I came here on my honeymoon when it was the Princeville Hotel in 2008. Keeping aside my honeymoon high bias and I can say, objectively, this was my best hotel experience ever!
The hotel is immaculate - from every obsessively clean piece of marble flooring, wall or shelf to every minimalist yet bold tropical plant/flower display. Sure it is a 5 star hotel, but still!
I really like the decor of the hotel rooms. We had a bathroom with an invisible and visible wall! Basically, you could make it see through and then, opaque again. We had a great view of the ocean and green roof for a balcony. The rooms were spacious, obsessively clean and had a great Hawaiian CD in the player.
5 stars. Breakfast buffet was delicious - fresh smoked salmon, fresh tropical fruits, stuffed omelettes, puffy poached eggs and the crunchiest hash browns. My husband also surprised me with a private dinner in one of their restaurants - they tucked us away on the balcony so we could have our privacy. Food was delicious - think we had lobster tail and filet mignon.
Great service - attention to detail and of course the hawaiian signature lei upon arrival is always a must. Staff was professional and quick to help.

Best hotel stay ever. I stayed here for my honeymoon before the St Regis transformation and it was awesome then so now I suspect its 200% more awesome. The location is amazing and since it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to a great suite on the top floor. They have magic glass in the bathrooms so you can get a great view from the bathtub and then flip a switch to obscure the glass for privacy. If you get room service they setup a little table right next to the window so you can look at the great view. They have a great pool and a nice little beach too. The location was awesome, the service was awesome, best hotel stay ever.

Solid hotel if you're looking to just relax on the beach and sip on a Mai Tai every day. We were looking for just that and decided to stay for 9 nights! The hotel is is pretty secluded though, so keep that in mind before booking for an extended stay. For instance, it is a $120 cab ride from LIH airport and anywhere you go will require a cab or rental car. If you're staying for several nights, I'd recommend doing some food shopping at the local Princeville Shopping Center (hotel food can get a bit mundane). Be sure to bring your own snorkel gear because the reef right in front of the hotel is addicting. I saw 4-6 sea turtles every time I swam out. The hotel is terrific, but I give it 4 stars since they were dealing with some union issues during our stay and the service really wasn't up to St. Regis standards. Hotel management was very attentive though and made amends wherever possible. Great place.

Only reviewing the spa - -
Had a wonderful spa treatment here - was some kind of seaweed treatment for an hour and a half. The showers here are top 3 of any place I've been too. Great little spa boutique carries the Maile products - big bonus!
