You'll find some really beautiful beaches with white sand, and pristine water. The waters of Saint Thomas are protected by the US government and they're so clean you'll want to shower in them. This is Magen's Bay.

Find out when there are not a lot of cruise ships in St. Thomas and sign up with Seasborne Airlines for an 18 minute flight from Christiansted and land right in the downtown harbor of Charlotte Amalie. We went shopping, the college kids went to Magen's Bay for beaching......we found a beautiful ring for my wife...had a fabulous salad lunch at Drake's Passage, Cafe Amici, and then returned to Christiansted in a seaplane flight of 25 minutes. You will feel like you are in a James Bond movie!!Recommended for:

This gorgeous island has certainly earned its fantastic reputation. While this is a popular stop for many cruise lines, there are also incredible resorts so travelers can experience the island for longer than a day. The Ritz Carlton is a spectacular option, located in a beautiful bay with easy access to several nearby islands such as St. John’s, Tortola and Virgin Gorda. And the Marriott is close to the town of Charlotte Amelia, where most cruise ships port.
There is an abundance of shopping options as well, from small boutiques to souvenir shops to amazing jewelry. If you would rather spend time at the beach, Megan’s Bay is a picturesque piece of paradise where you can truly relax, unwind and take some stunning photos. While I did not have enough time to explore all this island has to offer, I am certainly intrigued to come back for more. When I do, my plan will be to take a day trip to St. Johns, which my colleagues raved about. Just one of the may reasons to return soon.

Sailing with Capn Rick on the Nightwind is amazing. He goes out of Pilsbury Sound to very private untouristy snorkeling spots around St. John and some of the other islands. All inclusive, food, beverages, alcohol and equipment. Very small groups and first mate that doubles as a tour guide as you sail.

St.Thomas is a nice islands full of contrasts. You can find there the fantastic carribean sea, but also luxury shops, crowded streets and unfortunately big cruise ships. The island is quite big and the secret is going far from the crowd. You can find completely deserted white sand beaches. Nature is fantastic. There are a lot of good restaurants where to have relaxing dinners in front of the ocean.

I had a great time in St Thomas. There are nice restaurants inland, so if you stay on the beach, you can snorkel and take boat rides, etc, but also get in a taxi and explore inland a bit. Have fun!
