Not necessarily for this location specifically, but Stanford's is the number one happy hour stop for my wife and I. Partially because it's also in the 'burbs and is a quick trip for us. We're not drinkers - so beverages are not at the top of our list. But Beer Cheddar soup is amazing! Other go-to HH meals are chicken tenderloins and Mac n' Cheese.

Gayle and I returned to PDX after an unsuccessful attempt to purchase a laptop at the Best Buy in the Cascade Station area. It's surprising sometimes what you'll do to avoid sales tax. We still had a couple hours before our Southwest flight returned us to Oakland, and sharing a couple drinks sounded really good on this unseasonably hot Portland day.
We first checked out the nearby "Tiki" bar, but left fairly quickly due to slow table service and an odd smell. We traveled onwards to Stanford's where we were promptly and cheerfully seated, ordered, and served. The Happy Hour prices for drinks and appetizers were very reasonable and we proceeded to settle down with a couple of beers and a chip and dip combination. We also had a seat by the window and not only enjoyed each others company, but had the chance to discuss what had transpired over the weekend concerning my son's social and school progress.
If an establishments delivers well on their business model, that usually merits 4 Yelp Stars. And so it was with Stanford's at PDX last Monday afternoon.
