Great introduction to Asian markets, & on weekdays, it's much easier to navigate. It's great in that you can pay with credit cards & actually try on clothes.

Really wasn't impressed as a whole. Lots of overpriced kitsch and some western shopping nearby. But some people really rate it so your mileage may vary.

A must for first time visitors. This side of the island has a completely different vibe. A little less commercial (despite all of the tacky tourist shops). Visit Stanley and you can almost picture what Hong Kong must have been like decades ago.

Of all the markets you can go to in HK, the Stanley Market is certainly the most famous - but not the best. It caters mostly to tourists and is filled with a lot of trinkets and clothes that you can probably get for less elsewhere. If you have time, it's an impressive sight to see.....but it shouldn't be at the top of your list.Recommended for:Local Culture

Stanley Market stands out from the others as it is situated in a quaint fishing village on the south side of Hong Kong Island, giving it a great relaxed vibe compared to the usually frantic pace of the markets in Kowloon and Central. Almost everything under the sun is for sale here, with shops and stalls squeezed into anywhere with enough space, making it a must-go destination on any traveler’s list.

People say it's touristy but I like going to this laid back part of the island with friends or family ideally on weekend - there are plenty of cosy restaurants in the area. I don't normally buy things here but if you have time, check out the market as well.Recommended for:Family Travelers

Stanley is a great place to spend a day...browse the market stalls then walk along the waterfront where the renovated StanleybPlaza has finally bought some decent coffee (The Cupping Room opposite Taste being the best). There's also Classified or Saffron for breakfast or lunch, a Starbucks, and Stan Cafe on the top floor which also has good coffee and the best croissants in Hong Kong.
