This has always been one of my favorite rides at Disneyland since they built it. its very relaxing and fun and the line is not that ridiculous most of the time.
The weaving into and out of empty rooms was very random in the line, but it was nice to be in a lil bit of shade at least for a while. The other thing that was very helpful was that while in the room, there was an open area in the middle that all of the children in the room were able to run around in circles in. This was a lifesaver for multiple parents whose kids needed to burn off a little bit of energy.
As others have noted the revamping was really needed. The picking the rebel spy as a member of the party on the ship was fun and different. I really enjoyed the ride and so did the munchkin.
She was glued to it and didnt want to get off when the ride was done. However it was an absolute blast to enjoy with her on her first trip on this ride.

Now its 3D! yaya!
There are different scenes for each part of the ride, and the combinations of it make almost every single ride different. You could fly on the Wookie planet, or narrowly miss Jar Jar Binks as you are flying underwater, or participate in a pod race.

For 2011, the ride was updated and guess what?! The updates are way cool! It's worth the trip just to ride Star Tours, but do yourself a favor and get some fast passes because the line can be as long as 3 hours. Oy.
Updates on the new ride include 3D, 50+ alternate destinations or outcomes, and you probably have a rebel spy somewhere in your Starspeeder. If you're a Star Wars fan, then this is a must. The updates really make this ride awesome.

Despite the recent overhaul (changing the focus from Episodes IV, V, and VI to Episodes I, II, and III), I'll still begrudgingly give five stars to Star Tours. The new attraction requires 3D glasses, and each visit is truly randomized by the ride's computer system. Any Star Wars fans should check it out (even if they're bitter like I am about the changes).
