The Starlite Hotel is not exactly the dreamiest place to spend your Miami vacation. It's actually more like a set of a bad horror movie, where the staff is half dead and the electric blue and pink reflecting off the windows is a reminder that soon, everyone will be dead in their bad 80s prom outfits. Starlite's only redeeming quality is its location on Ocean Drive, but even that can be a downfall if you're not interested in staying awake until 6am every night. The staff isn't exactly friendly either, but more like half-dead, just waiting for their shift to end. Rooms are quite cramped and somewhat dirty, too.Recommended for:

Stayed here for 5 days. Location is excellent. Its right on the strip and in the mid of everything. Wet Willies is at the corner, Fat Tuesdays about 2 blocks, all the restaurants and best of all the beach rt across the street. Room was average but comfy and clean. All the rooms come with a fridge which is by far a def plus. Free beach towels. Friendly staff. Nice choice if going on a budget.

First, let me point out the strong suit of this hotel: it's a very affordable option for its premium Ocean Drive location. You're literally right in the middle of the gauntlet of nightclubs and restaurants. The rooms could definitely use a facelift, but if you're not looking for a five star hotel and don't mind the décor looking like the set of a B horror movie, then Starlight might be the right place for you. Also, if you're in South Beach to party, you won't remember much of the room anyway. If you can even make it to the beach after a night of debauchery, they do offer free towels and beach chairs.Recommended for:

This place is perfect if your a college kid on a budget who will spend minimal time in the room. Location is perfect right on the beach and the hotel even has packages for a lot of the popular night clubs in the area. Would certainly come here again for a short stay. Don't come here for the Starlite, come here for Miami Beach's attractions.
