World class surfing destination that allows you to watch surfers from Lighthouse Beach State Park. Many surf competitions are held here each year including the the Cold Water Classic in the fall.

Excellent World Renown surfing spot for very good surfers. Also surfing for the less skilled in available at Indicators or Cowell's Beach. Surfing rentals are available just below the rental home.

This legendary break is home to many annual surf contests, kayaking events, paddle surf events. Whether you enjoy watching from West Cliff Drive or actually get wet, this is not to be missed on your trip to Santa Cruz.

This place is pure magic when the waves are breaking. The visual is just stunning. I've never actually surfed in Steamer Lane but I watched a WQS event there in 2009 and the waves were just insane, 10+ ft. Beautiful and scary at the same time.

One of my favorite surf spots in santa cruz. Nice clean lines coming in. Can get crowded, and the locals can get testy if you don't follow proper etiquette.

Can be a huge middle peak - great surf vista - for folks who haven't seen surfing before if it is a good day they will remember it - it is a great place to watch a good day of surf!

Great place to catch some live surf action. The "Lane" plays host to national contests like the "(insert sponsor's name here ) Cold Water Classic", but you can see some fun take offs from the slot, middle peak, and indicators. Located along West Cliff Drive you can also enjoy panoramic views of beautiful California coastline while on a bike, blades, or foot. Bring a camera and a sweatshirt.

Steamer Lane is a famous surfing location in Santa Cruz with great waves, but not for beginners.
For those who don´t surf, in a walking tour of West Cliff Dr. Steamer Lane is overseen by a towering bronze statue of a man standing with his surfboard You´ll also have great view of the Santa Cruz Wharf, Boardwalk, Monterey Bay.

This is one of the best surf breaks in California. If you are a surfer paddle out with care, as it is localized. If you just want to watch pros doing aerials there is great viewing from the cliffs above.

Steamer Lane is great not just for surfing, but also for watching the sunset. During the summer, there are sometimes fire dancers who light up the night.
