The Stedelijk museum just reopened today after being closed for...well, forever it seems like.
The modern art museum houses a number of paintings by the likes of Mondriaan, Picasso, Kandinsky and others as well as design objects and some crazy installation art that one would expect at a modern art museum.
Funny enough, my favorite is the big two story yellow escalator tunnel that has design lighting and music that was commissioned specifically for the museum.
Not sure if it's worth the huge ticket price, but well worth a look with a Museumkaart.Recommended for:

The Stedelijk Museum reopened in late 2012, amidst an overlapping schedule of renovations and remodelling in Amsterdam's Museum Square. Although most people come to the city knowing the Dutch Masters, the Stedelijk holds its own as a premier institution of modern art. A new, extensive installation by Dan Flavin occupies the atrium at the center of the building. There is a challenging variation of work inside, from the politically-charged collages of Martha Rosler to the paintings of Van Gogh. A huge bookstore is also an attractor.
