Despite a naming convention that has the Wheel of Fortune fan in me looking to buy a vowel, STK manages to do something as rare one of the choice cuts of beef it frequently serves up. It manages to be both a quality food establishment and a great after hours lounge. This is not something many business' can balance (cough Anja Bar cough). Located appropriately in the meatpacking district STK is often confused by people seeking out Tenjune which is right next door. Ironically those seeking good music, and a great setting would be better off just "accidentally" walking in. The decor is chic with low hung lamps dimly lighting the space. A fireplace sits closely by the bar, fire hazards be damned, with some low lying seats. In truth the bar/dance area is not very spacious, as it is a restaurant first and foremost. You will find the typical Mac "DJ" "mixing", the difference being it will be a heavy rotation of 80's music. Drinks run the standard "OMFG" NYC price range. The crowd demographic runs from 25-60....literally. You'll find plenty of silver haired "ballers" gyrating spastically with choice cuts of meat that are not on STK's menu. Despite that the crowd is lively (Viagra!) and fun, and the small space emphasizes those points all the more.

Still going strong after all these years, this is the most fun steakhouse in New York! Forget about the food for a second; just the vibe here is incredible … people singing, dancing on tables, and having the best time listening to ‘80s music played by a live DJ. Okay, got the picture? Now, to the food … the signature bread with chive dipping sauce will make you cry, the citrus tuna tartare is beyond amazing, and my favorite -- the sweet corn pudding -- will have you wanting to work out that very same night! The Jersey Shore cast loves this place. After dinner, stop by the newly renovated TenJune dance club, adjacent to STK.
