I went hoping for amazing views of the strip, but there is this huge fence in the way, and no way to get it out of your photo. I TOTALLY understand having the fence, but visitors are blocked from going up to the fence. Otherwise, I could stick my lens in between two of the metal fence posts and take a photo, like the Empire State Building in NYC or the Space Needle in Seattle. Oh well. Otherwise, it's fun to watch people on the rides.
Also, it costs way too much to just visit the top, and the process of getting up there is long and cumbersome (making you take photos in front of a green screen).Recommended for:

I've been to every tower in North America and next to the CN Tower in Toronto the Stratosphere is the next best. The view is incredible and of you go up for happy hour watch the sunset and the strip come alive. Don't forget to go to the top out side for an even better view.Recommended for:

Some of the best views of Vegas are from atop the Stratosphere. Lines can be long to get up there and it can be pretty expensive if you decide to do the thrill rides too. All a very good adrenaline rush though.Recommended for:

You'll pay $15 just to get to the top of the hotel, but if you want to make an afternoon out of it, go for it. It's a mini carnival/amusement park up there, with dizzying rides and spectacular views.Recommended for:

Classic views of Las Vegas from atop this 110-story tall tower. Go just before sunset, and spring for a pass that lets you go on all the thrill rides at the top of the tower (Insanity, which dangles you over the side of the tower, is the best, although you can also dare the new SkyJump freefall). Tip: If you don't want to pay for the elevator ride or go on the outdoor observation deck, you can go to the cocktail lounge at the top and buy a drink instead.Recommended for:

This is one of the best vista points around. It is THE BEST vista point for lost wages IMHO. So what if it is 16 or 18 bucks to go up top if you are not staying at stratosphere... No where else can view everything happening so easily and take it all in.
You can see the North Las Vegas Race Track... Lake mead in the distance... The air traffic buzzing into and out of the airport like bees to a hive... or the Strip. The times I have been to the top of the Stratosphere, I have wanted to, but didnt take a trip on the rides (someday I will). There are three; one a roller coaster, one a bouncer, and I cant remember what the third is... but all seem like fun when you are over 1000 feet up.
PRO TIP: If you are staying at Stratosphere, you get a free trip up to the top of the tower!
There is also a restaurant up at the top which I want to try someday. I bet it is a romantic view kind of place even if it is not romantic in nature.
I also happen to love the view of the mountains and how the sun glints off of them here n there, let alone how they change hue depending on the sunlight as well.
So if you couldnt tell, this is one of my favorite places/activities to go to while in Vegas.Recommended for:

The best view to whole Vegas. You can book a dinner in the restaurant on the top. Dinner for 2 is about 100-150 USD. Food is not by European taste and I didnt enjoy it at all. But View and romantic worth it. Whole Vegas in your lap. Every 10 minutes a plane's lights comes or goes front of view. Some of the pictures are from the restaurant on the roof. The roller coaster at the top - the world's highest roller coaster, is better to try before the dinner as well the Big Shot, a reverse bungee jump which will shoot you in the air and then send you back down.

What a beautiful view of Vegas!
Free admission if you are staying at the hotel. I dont know if its worth paying $17 per person but if your a guest its a must! They have some great (SCARY) rides which you have front row seats to watch from the observation deck.

From its roller coaster which was the only thing I dared going on, I wasn't going on the Big Shot, X scream wasn't there at the time to the glass floor a thousand feet up, nowhere can you get anything like its views in the whole city.

The best part of the Stratosphere is going up the tower to the shops. And, to the look out tower plus the rides. The roller coaster looks scarier than it was. It ended up being like a baby coaster up on a tower which I guess was the thrill. That was the only ride I have done.

Sure you can see it from anywhere on the Strip, but is the Stratosphere really worth the trip? I can only speak from a customer service standpoint as we did not stay in the hotel, but I was nothing but impressed by way we were treated in this hotel.
Belly's full of custard from Luv It, we decided it was worth a shot to ask if we could just get a picture in the elevator without actually going to the top. What we thought would be a simple yes or no turned into a full blown tour of the upper tower of the Strat, with no stone left unturned.
The fact that one of their staff would take time out of their day to show us around was totally unexpected and gracious. I would come and stay here simply because of the phenomenal customer service. Hats off to you Stratosphere, you've won my heart.

The staff at Stratosphere Tower is incredibly accommodating. They are just awesome. I've never stayed here before but after such incredible service, I will in the future. This hotel is located at the top of the Strip and I don't usually travel that far north, but friends were staying here and I made my way over. Great pool area, the view can't be beat, and the place oozes hospitality.
