This is a lovely corner of Central Park, with benches to sit and imagine. Always busy with tourists, this tribute to John Lennon, located across from the site where he lived and was killed, is a fitting tribute to a man who desired peace.

A tasteful, beautiful memorial that makes a statement subtle enough for John Lennon's taste and yet profound enough to honor his memory. I love that every single time I've visited, something has adorned the "Imagine": candles, flower petals, even artwork from fans.

A lovely tribute to John Lennon, located on the west side of Central Park, near the Dakota. At any given time, it's adorned with flowers and messages for John.

Strawberry Fields is in Central Park just across the street from the Dakota, the building where John Lennon lived and where he was shot to death. Strawberry Fields is the focal point of Beetlemania in America. These days you can always find someone playing guitar for spare change along the benches near this memorial.

Strawberry Fields was an interesting sight to visit within Central Park. The spot was very crowded when we went.

Strawberry Fields is a nice bit of Central Park across from the Dakota, where John Lennon was shot. As such, there's a memorial to him in this part of the park.

One of my favorite retreats in Central Park is Strawberry Fields, particularly the "Imagine" mosaic memorial. All you need is love!

A beautiful memorial. People always bring flowers to pay their respects to a great man. There are usually people playing his songs on guitar around the memorial too. There is a profound and respectful silence in this area.

A visit to the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park is a rite of passage for any Beatles fan. The spot is just lovely, and you’ll likely see some street artists with Beatles garb and other fans with their cameras out.

Description

For the music aficionado, Strawberry Fields, located in New York City's Central Park, is a must-see. Dedicated to the late Beatle John Lennon, and named after the famous song, the memorial conjures up a range of feelings from melancholy to inspiration. Nestled in a small area surrounded by mature trees and wild roses, the centerpiece of the memorial is an intricately designed mosaic, featuring a single word - 'Imagine'. When you visit Strawberry Fields, it is a tradition to bring something along to leave as a tribute to Lennon and his work. Typically people leave flowers, notes or candles. If you plan to visit on either October 9th (his birthday) or December 8th (the anniversary of his murder), expect to find a huge crowd of fellow Beatles fans. Strawberry Fields is considered a "quiet zone", an area for remembrance and giving thanks to one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th Century.
