Studio 6 Austin Midtown

It's pretty bare bones, but it's just finishing up a remodel as of January 2014. It has those new, fresh-feeling Motel 6 rooms with faux wood floors and lime green everywhere. The studio includes an updated kitchen. But you won't find a pool or fitness room here. Instead, take a short walk to some nice restaurants nearby.

Great for big groups - share the appetizers (A MUST), delicious salads, and if you have room for entrees, they're good too. Stuff some dessert in too.

There are a few ESKs around town. At this spot, inside the Hole in the Wall (a rock club) on the Drag (what locals call Guadalupe on a small span near UT campus), I've enjoyed the chicken kara age many, many times. It's chunks of chicken thighs fried in a light crispy batter, topped with a spicy-sweet sauce, served atop ...

Delicious pizza!!! This restaurant gives a modern edge to some classics like carbonara pasta (served instead with tagliatelle) and different spices, too. Great for lunch or dinner. Great service - good wine recommendations.

Much love for this cozy 24-7-365 diner and its excellent seasonal menu - if you see something you like, order it, and don't cry when you come in searching for that sandwich again - it may have been retired from play. Highlights are pancakes and queso - and no, please don't combine the two. From burgers to bahn mi, KLC ...

Order at the cashier and have your food delivered to your table. An cool menu with some classic staples such as ceasar salad but also some intriguing elements like the fish torta and the gypsy grove. Very fair price, and appropriate portions! Parking before 5 is a little difficult. There is seating inside and outside. The interior is a little ...

Food and coffee are excellent - try the unusual items on the menu if you'd like a bite to eat such as the pear bacon green onion pancake. You will be pleasantly surprised. They have vegan and gluten free options as well usually, but it's not a guarantee. Note: service can be slow, and seating is a bit cramped

Good tacos and burritos, with some standards like "breakfast" or some meat plus cheese, but also some different combinations. They also have salads. This is better than taco shack, but the salsa was disappointing which is why I gave it 3 stars (it is not spicy at all). Good for a bite to eat.

This is a MUST STOP place for some REAL TEXAN BBQ. I don't eat pork, so the only thing I can here is beef and chicken. My group decided that they only want beef and pork rib, so I was out voted. I was really skeptical about their food because I had a horrible BBQ experience previous night at Green ...

Fresh food, refreshingly not greasy but still with southern influences. Brunch is delicious. Traditional early American interior - wooden tables with a warm home-like atmosphere. The restaurant grows a lot of its own produce, and there's a smaller restaurant - dine in n out - right next door.

    Musashino Sushi Dokoro

3.25 mi from Studio 6 Austin Midtown

One of my favorite sushi bars in Austin, the location is the only negative. It is easily found if you look for the Chinatown sign, which is the restaurant that sites above it in the same building. The sushi is fresh, they have fantastic "Texas-style" dishes with lots of jalapeno and habanero, and the service is excellent.
