Crisp, clean hotel, but sleepy location. May be ideal for families with small children who want city center proximity to be able to quickly get to all the city’s attraction, but not for travelers who hope to be out and about among locals without having to trek so far.Recommended for:

Suites 33 is great for travellers who want to see the city without the unnecessary frills in their hotel. The hotel is located just off Gran Vía, Madrid's answer to the London's Westend.
The room I was in was huge, with a small kitchen and microwave facilities. The hotel doesn't have any restaurant but it's in such a great location you'd never want to eat in anyway!
The hotel is on a great street full of Chinese stores and supermarkets, great if you're a foodie looking to stock up on authentic ingredients!Recommended for:

I never eat in the hotels I stay in, use the gym or swim lengths in the pool. So, if like me, you don’t need those things, but, if, like me, you want a hotel that’s central, welcoming and well-run, then you’d be hard pressed to beat Suites 33. No frills, but who needs frills?

This hotel is very much what you see is what you get. But what you get is great. The room was tidy and spacious and the bed cosy and big - about twice the size of my double at home. And happily there was English-language news on the TV (I find it’s a bit hit and miss in this price range). Plus, having passed through in winter, the bathtub was a plus. No breakfast in the actual hotel wasn’t a problem - you should really be starting your day in one of Madrid’s infinite number of cafes and bars anyway. Although maybe a little coffee machine in the lobby or optional in the room would be a nice touch for those who don’t wake up until the caffeine has struck. A little tip: if you’re only two, but really want a lot of space (plus a sofa), then ask for a triple. The sofa folds out into the third bed, but if nobody sleeps on it, you only pay the double room price. Nice to know your hotel isn’t ripping you off.
