Sukhothai Historical Park ; The UNESCO World Heritage Site in the North of Thailand. And one thing do not miss : light&sounds on Loy Krathong's Day. It will be held on the full moon in November every year to make a respect to Goddess of the river. This is one of the biggest festival of the year. ^^

The enchantment here begins with your arrival at the airport -- a small easy to manage open air garden space. Has to be one of the least stressful / most pleasant airports on the planet.
If you have an interest in Thai history, sculpture and architecture, then Sukhothai is a must visit. The temples here are exceptional and numerous. A great place to spend 2 or 3 days -- though the heat can be absolutely brutal in the summer.
