I should preface this review of New York City by saying that I really cannot write a review of New York City. To me it's so much more than a city, or a travel destination, or even the place I call home now. I grew up with thrift store maps of Manhattan plastered all over my bedroom. I carried around ...

This vibrant and culturally diverse neighborhood has a lot of charm and exceptional food. Walk along 31st and Steinway -- you'll find Greek, Lebanese, Moroccan, Mexican, Afghan, American, and plenty of bakeries / sweet shops. Underrated and unfairly shunned by most Manhattanites and guide books. You haven't really seen NY until you've spent time in Queens and Astoria is a ...

Elmhurst is located in Brooklyn, New York. It's marked by large pockets of Chinese communities and has lots of Chinese shops and small little hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

Wonderfully diverse working class neighborhood that doubles as the center of the gay Latino community. The streetscape could convince you that you've been transported to Tijuana -- a bit hectic and lined with taquerias, bars, and a variety of shops selling every day items. I adore Brooklyn and it's many personalities - it has all the charm and history of NYC - The treelined streets of park slope, a huge variety of restaurants, the hipsters of Williamsburgh, the amazingly walkable Prospect Park - all without the insane crowds.

Montclair is a typical New Jersey town with Victorian houses lining the streets, pot holes, and the classic main street with local shops, restaurants, and at least 1 bagel and pizza place. And, it's only a half hour from the city by train. Try Raymond's or Toast for brunch and Joey Thai for dinner. Walk down Church Street in the ...

The Bronx has given us Babe Ruth, break dancing and Colin Powell; its diverse history is reflected in the wealth of activities available throughout the borough. Visitors can enjoy outdoor recreation and green space at Pelham Bay Park, or tour the extensive menagerie of wildlife at the Bronx Zoo; sample the authentic Italian wares on Arthur Avenue; stroll amongst colorful ...

Located 15 minutes from Times Square, NYC. West New York, NJ is the absolute best place to see the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks. The beautifully lit NYC skyline in the background with fireworks in the front is a sight to see.
