The appeal of Super 8 is that they have a park and ride system for people who are leaving their cars long term while they fly somewhere else. For the same price you can probably stay at La Quinta, just up the road, but they don't have that parking deal. Super 8 is very basic and cheap, but it wouldn't be my first choice, especially if I didn't have a car. Those with out a car need to walk or take a shuttle to Cascade station to take max into portland. It's not a long trip, but if you're in Portland for tourism, why not stay closer in? If you just want a shower and clean bed before or after a flight, then this is fine, though. You can also take the shuttle to the airport and take MAX from there into Portland. Also Super 8 has smoking and nonsmoking rooms while some of the other airport hotels are entirely nonsmoking.Recommended for:

The Super 8 is probably the cheapest motel in the immediate vicinity of the Portland Airport. It's a cheap motel and they don't pretend to be anything but, which I respect. There's no pool or fitness facilities, but there is a shuttle to the airport. Some rooms are smoking and/or pet-friendly. Wi-Fi access and breakfast are included. For a little bit more money you can get something a bit nicer, but if you only want a place to sleep and shower, and hope to spend as little money as possible, then the Super 8 is definitely your best airport option.Recommended for:

If you are looking for a very basic motel near the airport that is clean and cheap, then the Super 8 is right for you. Just across the way from the LaQuinta Inn & Suites, the Super 8 is set firmly in what looks like a depressed industrial area.
Funny enough it has a certain charm in its acceptance as a reasonably low budget unpretentious motel; priced accordingly. It does provide a light breakfast and wifi, but if you want more than that you’ll be disappointed here.
The Super 8 does provide transportation to the airport and is well placed for any visitor who wants to tour the Portland area, remain near the airport on your stay, and save some money compared to staying in the bigger hotels around the airport.
Although it is a budget hotel, it is very clean, well maintained, and I’d recommend it to anyone – especially a business traveler – visiting in Portland for a short time.
Great value actually!
